Santa Barbara County Young Democrats Endorse Das Williams for Assembly
SANTA BARBARA, CA — The Dolores Huerta Santa Barbara County Young Democrats announced today that it has endorsed local Santa Barbara Councilmember Das Williams’ campaign for the 35th Assembly District.
The organization reported that its membership voted unanimously in Das’ favor.
“We chose to support Das Williams in this race because he is by far the candidate with the broadest range of experience,” said Olivia Uribe, co-chair of the Young Democrats. “Das has a great record on job creation, balanced budgets, education, the environment, public safety, and on a host of other critical issues that are important to people in this District.”
“Das’ energetic approach and new, fresh ideas are exactly what we need to get our state back on track,” added Uribe.
The Santa Barbara County Young Democrats now join the Young Democrats of Ventura County and the U.C. Santa Barbara Campus Democrats in their support of Das Williams’ Assembly campaign.
Members of the Young Democrats volunteer thousands of hours knocking on doors, phone banking, and participating in other activities on behalf of their candidates. Their endorsement of Das Williams adds more support to an already strong grassroots network united behind his campaign.
“I am so proud that my campaign for Assembly has engaged so many young people,” said Das Williams. “There are a lot of challenges facing our youth right now, including high college tuition costs and the toughest job market in decades, and I look forward going up to Sacramento to address some of these serious problems.”
