The 2010 Democratic primary is just three short months away, and our campaign for the 35th Assembly District has more momentum than ever.
Recently, we earned the support of major local and statewide public safety groups. Last week, we earned the support of SEIU, the largest union in the country. This comes on the heels of endorsements by the California League of Conservation Voters and the CA National Organization for Women (CA NOW).
With less than three months left until election day, our campaign continues to build momentum. It is the support and hard work of each and every one of you that has brought our campaign this far. This is your campaign.
Nothing is more powerful than neighbors talking to neighbors. The volunteers who spend their weekends and evenings over the next three months talking to voters about the issues that this campaign stands for - a quality education system, creating good paying local jobs and sending proven local leadership to Sacramento - will bring this campaign to victory.
YOU are the reason that our message of positive change and proven results is reaching the residents of the 35th Assembly District, and you are the reason that we will take that message to Sacramento come June 8th.
Thanks to your efforts so far, our campaign is ready to make its transition into the next phase! We have successfully conducted over 50 house meetings, identified over 600 potential volunteers and already have 19 more house meetings on the calendar in March! Additionally, in the past couple of months volunteers have hosted more than 15 Meet & Greets, where Das was able to meet with hundreds of community members. The organizing team has been working tirelessly for over two months and we have grown our grassroots base significantly.
Now our campaign is ready to move to the next phase.
On Sunday, March 21st, we will be holding our Neighborhood Team Kickoff where volunteers and supporters like you will begin helping the campaign spread our message to voters in your neighborhoods by canvassing, phone banking, tabling and other activities.
Whether you are interested in becoming part of a Neighborhood Team, volunteering to be a Neighborhood Team Coordinator, or are simply thinking about getting involved, we strongly encourage you to attend the Neighborhood Team Kickoff. The campaign has already identified over two dozen Neighborhood Team Coordinators and over 100 Neighborhood Team members but we need A LOT more to be successful!
This will be a great opportunity to meet other campaign volunteers and find out more about becoming a Neighborhood Team Coordinator or Member.
